In one study of 186 individuals who received telephone counseling services, 95% reported satisfaction with the services rendered (“Effectiveness of Telephone Counseling: A Field-Based Investigation”, by Reese, Conoley & Brossart, published in the Journal of Counseling Psychology, 2002, v. 49, num. 2, pgs. 233-242).
Additionally, more research around the effectiveness of tele-counseling has been positive, and continues to be forthcoming, with studies already demonstrating improved outcomes across all kinds of issues, with examples including: depression; anxiety; quality of life; functioning in psychological health and social and home life; pain; sleep; disability; attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; health conditions; and individuals’ confidence in their ability to handle challenges.
